Welcome to another edition of “Pre Game Meal with El Jefe.” We have a whole new set of must watch match ups this week. This week brings us conference final games in two different leagues. It should be a great week to watch some history making moments in the world of sports.
And then there were Four
The final four teams set to do battle for Lord Stanley’s Cup have been set. In the East we have Senators v. Penguins, and in the West we have Predators v. Ducks. The defending champion Penguins have a target on their back and they are facing a hard-nosed Ottawa Senators team that shouldn’t be taken lightly. The Predators/Ducks series brings you a lot of star power and two very evenly matched teams that will beat up on each other. Both series will be a physical brand of hockey. My hope for the finals is Predators v. Senators… I hate the Penguins(especially Sidney Crosby), and in the Ducks series I just think Nashville is the better team. It helps that DB’s bachelor party in Nashville was pretty EPIC. Either way I am looking forward to some quality hockey.
Wizards or Celtics?
The Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs are already set to do battle this week in the West. In an exciting game on Sunday the Warriors came back from a 25 point deficit to take 1-0 series lead. My exciting must watch match up in the NBA playoffs this week is the Eastern conference semifinal game between the Celtics and Wizards. John Wall was able to sink a game winning 3 with just 3.9secs to force a game seven. The winner of what I think will be a hard-fought game seven will meet with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Milliron Sports blogger DB is closer to his prediction of a Cavs/ Warriors final and I agree with him this would be terrible. I believe John Wall will put the Wizards on his back and win tonight in game seven. What are your thoughts?
The Redlegs are back in division play this week with a visit to play the Cubs at Wrigley. The west coast was not very kind to our Red Stockings, but getting back into division play will allow them to face a familiar foe in a team just 5 hours north of Cincinnati. The Reds need the bats to wake up for this series they left way too many on base in San Francisco. The Cubs however have faced their own challenges lately. It’s always a must watch when you are talking Reds v. Cubs.
Let me know what matchups you are looking forward to this week.
This concludes my must watch matchups for this week see you next time!
