Welcome to the eighth day of Jefe’s 25 Beers ’til Christmas, where I try to help you calm your nerves and forgot the pains of Christmas such as work and other year-end nonsense by helping you locate the best holiday brews. Today I #drinklocal and try a beer from the greatest city on earth, that’s right folks I’m talking about Cincinnati! This is one of my favorite local breweries and I will be rating today’s beer as usual on a 1 to 5 scale.
Winter ’77 by Christian Moerlein Brewing Company (@moerleinbeers)
Beer Type: Winter Warmer
Location: Cincinnati, The 513, The Nati, The Queen City!
I’m am rating this beer a 3.6. Winter ’77 is a very delicious beer I just don’t know if I could drink a growler or case of it. This winter warmer ale was launched just this year to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the famous winter in Cincinnati, where it was so cold the Ohio River froze over. People were actually able to walk and even drive across the river during the winter of 1977. I figured this was the perfect beer to try considering this weekend is expected to be the first snowfall of the season. So to avoid the bitter cold this weekend wrap some Christmas presents and crack open a Winter ’77, you won’t be disappointed.
