Jefe’s 25 Beers ’til Christmas: Day 18

Welcome to the eighteenth day of Jefe’s 25 beers ’til Christmas today I review a southern companies take on Christmas Ale. Abita Brewing Company is located just an hour away from N’Awlins, so with the party reputation, NO has I was excited to try this beer. I will let you know what I thought by rating this southern beer on a 1 to 5 scale.

December 18th:

Christmas Ale by Abita Brewing (@TheAbitaBeer)

Beer Type: American Amber/ Red Ale

Location: Louisiana

I am rating this beer a 2.8 it is a hoppy mess. This beer made me think of the Always Sunny episode where they claim to be the microbrew guys. Only to find out they mix a bunch of old beers together for their secret recipe. I didn’t pick up on a lot of the flavors at all because I was overwhelmed by the hoppiness. I couldn’t see drinking anymore then one of these for my next holiday party it was a tough beer to drink for me because it was so bitter. Give this beer a try and tell me what you think.
