Cincinnati.com – Springfield Twp. police have arrested the woman who is accused of stealing a rare butterfly from a special exhibit in Cincinnati.
Police said Jamie Revis, 36, of Springfield Twp., took the butterfly on April 15 from the Krohn Conservatory.
Police arrested her around 3 p.m. on Friday.
Security camera footage showed the suspect walking through the landscape inside the exhibit. Footage shows that she was confronted by someone who tries to stop her from walking through the exit door.
I can think of a lot of cool shit I’d love to do with a butterfly. Teaching it tricks and maybe even how to fetch me a beer are the two things atop my list. I think just any normal butterfly would do, though. I don’t think I’d have to pull a Jamie Revis and steal a rare butterfly from a conservatory (museum for plants) to get it done. What’s wrong with the Monarch Butterflies you’ll see all summer long? Are they not capable of doing sweet tricks? Did her butterfly training regimen need to get started immediately and she couldn’t wait for the Monarchs to do the cocoon thing or whatever we learned about in elementary school? Maybe she just likes to eat butterflies and rare ones taste better? I’m not one to judge a book by it’s cover, but I’m gonna guess she’s not the type to eat anything that had a pulse, and I’m assuming butterflies have hearts so I’m just as confused as Jamie’s hair dresser.
I’m not a butterfly expert, but I know more about butterflies than anyone else I know, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Monarch Butterflies can do just as cool of tricks as the one Ms. Revis stole. I hope it was worth it. Good luck getting any prison cred for stealing a butterfly when other hardened criminals are in there doing time for murder, weapon trafficking and whatever Meek Mill did.
