It’s been since 2003 that the Cincinnati Bengals conducted a head coaching search. I didn’t know what to expect this time around. Truth be told, I was terrified. Mike Brown is almost two decades older than he was the last time he made a decision like this so a lot of people were hoping the heirs to the Bengals’ control room, his daughter Katie and her husband Troy Blackburn, would be more influential in this round of hiring. I saw the situation playing out in two different ways: 1. Mike Brown sticks to his guns and tries to win “his way”, which means another decade and a half of sucking or 2. Troy and Katie Blackburn finally strong arm Mike Brown into making a smart decision and hire the best fit for the job, not just who Mike is familiar with. At the beginning of the process, if I had to bet my life on it, I would’ve said Hue Jackson or Vance Joseph would win the head coaching sweepstakes. That would’ve caused me to break just about every bone in my hand on every wall in my house. An organizational overall is needed, and based on reports coming out tonight, it looks like that’s what we’re finally getting. Continue reading
Oh my God, it finally happened. As first reported by Whitty via his screenshot of the ESPN alert he got on his phone, the Cincinnati Reds have finally traded Homer Bailey to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Continue reading
Talk about a classic “crap your pants while you’re driving home from the zoo” moment when I came across this headline at a red light (no texting/tweeting while driving in my reasonably priced luxury sedan). Mr. Feeny dying would be the saddest non-family member bad news I think I could receive. I’m not even willing to put any of my friends ahead of Mr. Feeny, because unlike my friends, Mr. Feeny was always there for me from 2-3pm on ABC Family. I don’t wanna point any fingers or call anyone out but sometimes Whitty won’t respond to my texts for up to 2 minutes after I send them. Again, not to call anyone out but did Mr. Feeny ever show up 2 minutes late during the weekdays? That’s what I thought. Continue reading
Is this a bit of an overreaction on my part? Maybe, but why be a fan if you can’t get excited about a major organizational change that seems to be the right move? It might also be the fact that I’m in a good mood because the Bengals haven’t had the chance to break my heart yet today. Continue reading
As America was settling down for the evening, getting ready for tonight’s Top-15 match-up between Ohio State and TCU, the Browns dropped a bombshell that I don’t think anyone was expecting.
Don’t get me wrong… I think we all knew this is how the Cleveland-Gordon love story would end, but I don’t think anyone was expecting it this early in his most recent comeback tour. Continue reading
It seems like a monthly, sometimes weekly occurrence where a public figure or athlete is caught with a burner account on social media. Is Dez Bryant our most recent casualty to Burneraccountitis?
I can see that.
Adam Duvall, Matt Harvey, Billy Hamilton, Scooter Gennett, Raisel Inglesias. All names we heard as possible trading chips as the Reds put the finishing touches on their rebuild. Well, Adam Duvall wasn’t the most likely player to be dealt, but he was the first.
