Hue Jackson is officially back with the Cincinnati Bengals, and Marvin Lewis is fooling us into believing that he has everything under control. We also chat about the Steelers and Le’Veon Bell being an unrestricted FA at the end of the season, and the Chiefs/Rams game being moved out of Mexico City. Our fantasy draft this week is of our favorite sports beefs, with the recent turmoil in the Warriors camp between KD and Draymond Green being the inspiration. Enjoy the show!
The Reds are shaking things up as they’ve decided to move Homer Bailey to the bullpen and pull Jesse Winker out of the regular outfield rotation. While the Nati Boys agree that Bailey to the ‘pen is a good move, the Winker decision has us scratching our heads. We talk about the dream matchup we have this year in the NBA finals, and we provide a quick update on the NHL finals as well. Mac let’s us all know that he’s been wearing the same pair of socks for the past 6 months, and in honor of the city of Cincinnati getting an MLS franchise we wrap up the show with a fantasy draft of things that we just don’t care about.
The Golden State Warriors are your 2017 NBA champions! The Warriors breezed their way through the playoffs with a 16-1 postseason record. Their 15 straight wins to start the playoffs set an NBA record for most consecutive wins to begin a postseason, and I personally think they could have done a complete 16-0 sweep if they wanted to. Early on there was speculation that the addition of KD may throw off the Warriors’ chemistry and that there would be too many egos in the locker room (after all, there’s only one ball). That clearly wasn’t an issue however, and this Golden State team will go down as one of the greatest in NBA history.
Welcome, welcome, welcome! Thank you for joining me for another edition of Wake Up With Whitty, where I give you a few interesting tidbits from the week that’s passed. Let’s face it, the last thing anyone wants to do this early in the morning is try to formulate their own thoughts. I’ve been kind enough to do the thinking for you, so just sit back and enjoy. Then once you’ve finished your Lucky Charms and you’ve had a chance to wake up a bit, feel free to come back and tell me why you disagree with me. Continue reading →
Don’t get me wrong, I love the NBA Playoffs. There have been some great series so far, and watching John Wall talk trash to anything that moves has been thoroughly entertaining. The heroics of Isaiah Thomas have been amazing, and watching the Cavs and Warriors dismantle teams has been fun at times (boring most of the time, though).
